Renderings: Rutgers is planning some major facilities upgrades (Rutgers)

When Rutgers made the call to join the Big Ten back in 2013, they knew that it would need some facility renovations to measure up to the likes of Penn State, Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan State and Michigan.

While the Scarlet Knights may not receive their full Big Ten revenue share until the 2020-2021 season, they've decided to lean on some donors and move forward with some major facility upgrades to help bring them up to par with the rest of the conference.

A number of the planned upgrades are football specific, including a new football-only facility inside of the Hale Center, which would undergo renovations to house just the football program. Also planned are upgrades inside of the stadium, including a larger press box for the media, upgraded restrooms and an elevator tower on the east end of the stadium.

Take a peek at a few of the renderings, courtesy of a release from the Rutgers athletic department.
