After helping lead Georgia to back-to-back national titles, offensive coordinator Todd Monken is heading back to the NFL.
The Ravens announced the hire of Monken as their new offensive coordinator today.
A sought after play caller, Monken interviewed for a few NFL offensive coordinator opportunities this off season, including the opening with the Bucs and Ravens.
Monken had been Kirby Smart's offensive play caller since 2020, and previously spent time as an NFL play caller with the Browns (2019), and Bucs (2016-18).
In Baltimore, Monken lands what appears to be one of the prized offensive coordinator openings of this cycle, however there is some uncertainty about the future of Lamar Jackson with the organization, althought the Ravens have recently stated they are "200% committed" to the young star quarterback.
The offensive coordinator opening for Kirby Smart's program becomes a huge opening in college football, and we will have more on what that means that later including the possibility of Mike Bobo (currently on staff as an analyst) taking the reigns of the offense once again.
The opening in Athens joins recent high profile college offensive coordinator openings at Alabama, Miami, and Notre Dame, among others.
