FootballScoop can confirm Oregon State assistant Brent Brennan will be the new head coach at San Jose State.

In Brennan, SJSU is getting a true west coast coach in every sense of the word. His previous stops include San Jose State, Cal Poly, Arizona, Washington, Hawaii, and Woodside HS (CA). Six years of his coaching journey came at SJSU where he served as offensive cooridnator, tight ends coach, wide receivers coach, tackles coach, and special teams coordinator during different times.
Brennan also has a touch for developing all conference players, and unique NFL talents, with guys like Brandin Cooks, Markus Wheaton, Sean Mannion, Victor Bolden, James Jones, Darrell Jones, Kassim Osgood, Adam Herzing, Ramses Barden, and a host of others on his impressive resume.
In 2012, Brennan was a finalist for the FootballScoop Wide Receivers Coach of the Year Award, along with David Beaty, Shannon Dawson, and Matt Lubick.
Widely respected by his coaching collegues, San Jose State is getting a really good one in Brennan, with some great west coast ties for recruiting that should bode well for the future of the program.
Brennan fills the opening left by Ron Caragher, and his hire will mark the ninth job that has been filled this off season. In total, 17 FBS have come open, and eight remain open. See a full list of the head coaching changes at the NFL and college level here.
