LSU is making significant changes to their defensive staff
For starters, Brian Kelly has decided to part ways with defensive coordinator Matt House who has been with the program the past two seasons.
But that's not all.
Also, corners coach Robert Steeples, safeties coach Kerry Cooks and defensive line coach Jimmy Lindsey have also been let go.
Per their contracts, Steve Berkowitz shares that the following buyouts are due:
- DC Matt House due just over $3.7 million. His deal ran through 1/15/2026.
- DL coach Jimmy Lindsey due almost $745k
- Safeties coach Kerry Cooks due over $510k
- Corners coach Robert Steeples due just over $510k
In total, LSU will pay about $5.465 million to make these changes, as Ross Dellenger shares that is pending duty to mitigate based on them landing future positions.
The changes come following the Tigers 35-31 bowl win over Wisconsin in what was one of the most entertaining games of the bowl season.
Kelly will now look to replace both coordinators after a ten-win season, as Mike Denbrock left for the offensive coordinator job at Notre Dame after producing Heisman winner Jayden Daniels at quarterback for the Tigers.
