Kevin Kelley has landed a new head coaching opportunity (Kevin Kelley)

Kevin Kelley, known in coaching circles as Mr. Never Punt and Always Onside Kick, has landed a new head coaching job.

Kelley is returning to the high school ranks in Arkansas as the new head coach at Sheridan high school.

Back in the prep ranks, Kelley returns to his home state where he racked up an incredible 216-29-1 record at Pulaski Academy, where he led the program to 9 state titles.

In 18 seasons as a head coach, Kelley has punted just 8 times. Even more impressive than that, during a three-year span from 2017-19 at Pulaski Academy, Kelley's teams scored on 88% or more of their possessions each season, peaking at scoring on 90% of drives in 2017.

Kelley left Pulaski Academy in 2021 to take his unconventional approach to his first college head coaching opportunity at Presbyterian (FCS - SC).

His tenure there got off to a fast start as they won their first two games convincingly, 84-43 and 68-3. In his first game as a college head coach, Kelley's quarterback set a Division I record with a remarkable 12 touchdown tosses.

However, from there they would go on to lose nine straight games where they were outscored 544-252 and he resigned at the end of the year.

Kelley spent the past two seasons in private business, which includes doing some consulting for the New England Patriots.

At Sheridan, he takes over a program that finished 3-8 last season.
