Deion Sanders blasts Colorado team after angry letter from professor (Colorado)

There's a candor with Deion Sanders that barely, if at all, is matched anywhere in college football.

Colorado's second-year leader, Coach Prime never hesitates to speak his mind on the sport's most pressing topics -- or to speak his truth to his Buffaloes players.

Case in point: Colorado's football program this week received a letter from a perturbed professor at the University of Colorado because the professor had found Buffs student-athletes -- specifically football players -- not engaged in class and also not mentally present.

Sanders put the entire team on blast in a meeting in which he read the letter aloud and allowed the omnipresent video coverage of the Colorado program to be publicly shared.

"It bothers me to the fact that we're not only a football but we're trying to prepare you for life, we're trying to get you ready to live in that land right after this," Sanders said as he began his team address. "Let's check this out."

Sanders then began to read the professor's letter.

"This semester has been extremely challenging for me as a professor," Sanders shared. "I have never felt so disrespected in my 10 years of teaching. Students do not follow even minimally and it slows down my class so much.

"That make it clear that they don't want to be here, they have very little personal responsibility, making me responsible for their grades.

"For the students who do want to learn, it has been a bad experience as well. Since they have to work on break-out rooms and the distracted students do not bring anything - anything, anything - to the table."

Sanders then told his team, "They're just there to eat," before he continued.

"I often have to repeat the same three and four times because student-athletes are present but not really in class."

Sanders then stopped reading from the letter and again dug into the approach of the players being referenced.

"Your present, but you ain't really there," Coach Prime said, his voice elevating as he continued his message. "You on the field, but you ain't doing nothing. You in the relationship but you ain't got no love. You at the mall but you ain't got no money.

"Got a lot of ability but no dern talent. Because you don't think! This is from the teacher."
