Kirby Smart found himself with a number of high profile openings this off season, and you could argue that he made some of the best hires of any college football program this coaching change cycle.
Along with the hiring of former NFL offensive coordinator Todd Monken as the Bulldogs new offensive play caller, Smart also brought in former Ole Miss head coach Matt Luke as the new offensive line coach, and really made a splash when hiring away Alabama head strength coach Scott Cochran to an on-the-field job in Athens coordinating the special teams.
Today, Seth Emerson shared the contract details for both Luke and Cochran.
Luke signed a three-year deal that runs through June 2023 that will pay him $900,000 annually. After being let go at Ole Miss, Luke was owed about $6.5 million as part of the terms of his buyout.
Cochran, working his first on-field college coaching job, signed a two-year contract that runs through June 2022. He will make $550,000 his first year and $575,000 in his second year.
The on the field coaching gig is a bit of a pay cut for Cochran, who made just under $900,000 running the strength and conditioning program with the Tide.
