As Braxton Harris climbed the coaching ranks, first putting Campbell on the map as the program's recruiting coordinator for a class that ranked 1st in FCS and topped several FBS programs, he proved his contacts spanned the country.
Harris now is showing he's a pretty darn good recruiter of coaches, too.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Harris is hiring Koy McFarland to be the Camels new linebackers coach.
It's a significant move for Campbell, which adds a coach coming immediately from the FBS ranks -- McFarland had spent the previous two seasons as linebackers coach at Tulsa -- as well as one with Power Conference experience.
McFarland also had previously been on staff at Oklahoma State.
Additionally, sources familiar with the situation tell FootballScoop that Harris is elevating Ross Hornor to associate head coach. Hornor's also been the program's offensive run game coordinator and offensive line coach since his hiring a year ago.
The Camels will conclude spring camp next month with their annual spring game and are slated to open the 2025 season, Harris's second, Aug. 29 with a road game at CAA Conference foe Rhode Island.
