A pair of D-II coaches wore Batman and Joker costumes on game day (OPSU)

Over the weekend, we all saw plenty of coach inspired costumes, from the Jim Harbaugh inspired ones to Dabo and Mike Leach doing the nae-nae.

But this is a first - Oklahoma Panhandle State (D-II) faced Texas College (NAIA) this weekend and head coach Russell Gaskamp showed up on the sideline with a Batman costume on, and his offensive coordinator, Lucas Peters, was donning The Joker outfit (see the picture above).

The getup seemed to work, as the Aggies of OPSU rolled to a 62-7 win.

I could really hop on board with this catching on across the country on games played Halloween weekend. Mike Leach in a Geronimo or pirate costume each year, or Les Miles as the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland, or Nick Sabn just throwing on some devil horns. It could be fun right?

Can you imagine coming to the sideline after a mistake and getting chewed by your head coach in a Batman costume? Or seeing your offensive coordinator send in plays in full Joke regalia?

Props to coach Gaskamp and Peters for pulling this off, and keeping their guys focused enough to crank out a convincing win.

OPSU wasn't the only one having fun with Halloween though. Over at Mount Union (D-III - OH), the coaching staff put together a WWE inspired entrance for practice.

UPDATE: Since publishing, a few people have pointed out that this was done as a charity fundraiser for the Panhandle Services for Children that provides area children emergency shelter during times of need. Read more here.
