Taking Marshall to the Sun Belt Conference Championship a year ago and resuscitating Southern Miss's moribund football program in 2025, Charles Huff now is pushing his new organization -- Memphis football -- into the 2026 season.
And that means Huff is adding another key component to his offensive coaching staff.
Sources tell FootballScoop that Huff is adding Aaron Dobson, a former Marshall Thundering Herd star wideout and NFL veteran, as the wide receivers coach in his Memphis Tigers program.
Dobson had a sensational career at Marshall that concluded almost 14 years ago and then transitioned into the NFL, where he was a second-round NFL Draft pick by Bill Belichick's New England Patriots.
Dobson won a Super Bowl crown as a member of the Patriots and also logged NFL playing time with the Detroit Lions and Arizona Cardinals.
His coaching career has included Huff hiring him first as an offensive analyst at Marshall and then elevating Dobson into the Thundering Herd's on-field, full-time wide receivers coach on the 10-win, 2024 Marshall squad.
Dobson then coached this past season with Huff at Southern Miss.
Huff was hired atop the Memphis program earlier this month after former Tigers head coach Ryan Silverfield was hired away from the Tigers to take over at Southeastern Conference program Arkansas.
