Limestone College (D-II - SC): Limestone College is now accepting applicants for our Internship/Volunteer Assistantship for the 2016 Spring and Summer sessions. These candidates must be dedicated, motivated, and looking forward to continuing their growth in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Limestone’s 25 Division II intercollegiate athletic programs; assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; and completing various educational assignments. Interns will receive professional work experience, staff gear, and college credit if applicable as this is an UNPAID position. Preferred requirements are CSCS, CSCCa, and/or USAW, CPR/AED certified and pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in Exercise Science or related field of study. Southwest Minnesota State (D-II): Southwest Minnesota State University has a football graduate assistant position available for Strength and Conditioning beginning in January, 2016. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Design, implement, and evaluate speed, strength, and conditioning for the football program. Analyzing nutritional habits of student-athletes and educating them on healthy dietary choices. Computer data entry of strength, speed, and conditioning test results. Communicating with the football staff and sports medicine staff regarding physical training issues and injury limitations of student-athletes. Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, ability to get into Master’s program at SMSU. 1-3 years’ experience required, working in a collegiate strength and conditioning environment preferred. National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) certification, or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCC) certification preferred. CPR and First Aid certification required. Proven success in all areas of strength and conditioning programming, Olympic style lifts, plyometrics, speed development, conditioning, and flexibility. Florida Atlantic: The Florida Atlantic University Strength & Conditioning department is accepting applications for the position of Volunteer Intern for the Spring 2016 semester (January 9th – May 9th). Compensation: Division I Intercollegiate experience; an earned recommendation toward further success as a Strength & Conditioning Coach; as well as college credit toward graduation, if applicable. Please be aware that there will be NO monetary compensation, nor housing offered for this position. Duties will include, but are not limited to: assisting staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for all FAU sports; set up, and breakdown of training equipment; as well as assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Minimum Qualifications: Strong work ethic, and highly motivated; preferred candidates are to be in a Bachelor’s degree program geared towards Exercise Physiology or a related field; experience in a college strength & conditioning setting. Preferred Qualifications: Working towards a Graduate’s degree in a program geared toward Exercise Physiology or a related field; working towards a nationally-accredited strength & conditioning certification (SCCC, CSCS, USAW, etc.); knowledge/experience working with Microsoft Excel.
