Wake Forest: Wake Forest is accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the Football Sports Performance Program. Qualified candidates will serve the Football program as a non-counted coach that will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. The successful candidates must be working towards earning a Bachelor’s degree. They must display a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. In addition, they must be committed to enhancing themselves and the department through a continued eagerness to learn and develop professionally. The anticipated start date will be May 2014. Stanford: Stanford University is accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the Football Sports Performance Program. Qualified candidates will serve the Football program as a non-counted coach that will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This unpaid opportunity provides coaching experience assisting the staff implement the individualized, Football specific comprehensive injury prevention and performance enhancement program. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study in addition to current CPR/AED certification. This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, June 14th 2014, and requires a 6-month time commitment, summer only time commitments will be considered based on availability. The opportunity to extend throughout the entire 2014 football season will be earned based on the evaluation from the summer training period. During this evaluation, interns will have the opportunity to compete and earn a paid full-time internship position on the Football Sports Performance staff.
