Montana: The University of Montana Sports Performance is accepting applications for the 2015 Fall and potential Spring (2016) Sports Performance Internship. Qualifications: Ideal candidates should be pursuing a Graduate Assistantship in Strength and Conditioning. Female candidates are encouraged to apply. Candidates must possess a strong work ethic, eagerness to learn, and a deep desire to be a collegiate strength coach. Current certification, or working towards certification with the NSCA-CSCS or CSCCa. Current CPR/AED certification necessary for internship. Preferred candidates will have experience in a team training setting, be able to lead groups large and small and be able to communicate effectively with a diverse group of student athletes. Intern will be assigned tasks, readings and projects related to collegiate strength and conditioning. Successful candidates must possess and demonstrate a strong attention to detail. Compensation: This is an unpaid voluntary position. Candidates will have the opportunity to learn and gain hands on experience at a successful Division 1 institution. The internship curriculum is set to aid the advancement of intern as a coaching professional. Class credit is available if applicable. Merrimack College: Merrimack College is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. The Warriors are a member of the Division I Hockey East Conference and the Division II Northeast 10 conference and currently sponsor 24 intercollegiate sports. Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities for the successful candidate include assisting with the development and implementation of all aspects of training for 24 varsity athletics programs and direct oversight of assigned teams. Duties include but are not limited to working with coaches to design and implement year-round strength and conditioning programs, coaching and teaching proper technique, supervision and education of graduate fellows and interns, weight room supervision and maintenance, and administrative responsibilities as assigned. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree required (preferably in a related field). Understanding of and experience in program design. Proficient in Microsoft office suite Preferred: Master’s degree, CSCS/ CSCCa certification, CPR-First Aid certification. Prairie View A&M: Prairie View A&M University Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning internship for the Fall 2015 Semester. The applicant(s) should possess a minimum of 1-3 years of experience leading individual to large groups within a gym and/or Strength and Conditioning setting. The applicant(s) MUST be working towards or currently hold a nationally recognized certification(CSCS, CSCCa,USAW) and a CPR/AED certification. Additionally the applicant should possess strong communication skills as they will be leading warm ups and assisting in team lifts. Villanova: Villanova University is currently accepting applications for volunteer football strength and conditioning interns for Fall 2015. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor’s degree program; Must have CPR/AED/First Aid certification. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (1) CSCS and/or SCCC certification; (2) Experience competing in intercollegiate athletics or (3) experience working in a collegiate strength and conditioning facility. This is an unpaid position. However, volunteers will receive experience working at a Division I program, receive Nike athletic apparel, some meals will be provided, gain a better understanding of program design, have the potential to earn a paid internship position, earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if, applicable. Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan University Sports Performance is looking for qualified strength and conditioning interns for the Fall 2015 semester. The internship will begin August 1- December 18 2015. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; NSCA-CSCS or USAW certifications; CPR certification. One year of previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletics experience is preferred. Compensation: This is a non-paid position. The intern strength and conditioning coach will receive Coach Mckeefery’s nationally recognized internship curriculum, practical s and c experience, mentorship, and hours toward undergrad/ graduate or CSCCa practicum.
