Jacksonville Jaguars: The Jacksonville Jaguars are currently looking for highly motivated individuals for our 2017 Strength and Conditioning internship program. The Jaguars are committed to developing talent and interest in professional sports. An internship at the Jaguars will provide you the chance to explore your career interests, acquire marketable job skills while “learning the ropes” of the industry, establish professional contacts, and gain practical “hands on” experience. The Jaguars internship offers meaningful educational work experiences designed to meet your career goals in the strength field. The Jaguars strength staff will teach and encourage, but it’s up to you to be enthusiastic about learning. Through this program, you will be exposed to the design and implementation of football-specific strength, speed, agility and conditioning programs, conduct performance monitoring and analysis using a Global Positioning System (GPS), assess and analyze performance using the Functional Movement Screen (FMS), properly oversee and manage the weight room, and how to appropriately care for and maintain specialized athletic equipment. All applicants must have a Master’s degree in Exercise Science or related field from an accredited school, college or university, and CPR/AED certified. Also, all applicants must have 1-3 years of coaching experience in football strength and conditioning at the collegiate or professional level, proficient computer skills (particularly excel) and 1 or more of the following certification: CSCS, SCCC, and RSCC. This position pays $10 per hour and you must secure your own housing, transportation and be present in-office throughout the week. The starting date of this internship is April 3, 2017, and continues one week after the season ends. Please submit applications via email only. Transylvania: The Transylvania University Strength & Conditioning Department is accepting applications for volunteer interns. This is an UNPAID position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Strength & Conditioning staff with the implementation of sport specific injury prevention, strength, speed, agility, flexibility, mobility, and conditioning programs. Once training is complete you will be assigned 2-3 teams for which you will design and implement programs. Potential Candidates: Prior to the beginning of the internship period, candidates must have completed a Bachelors Degree in a related field and have passed at least one of the following certifications: CSCS or SCCC. Candidates must have integrity, self-motivation, enthusiasm, and a strong willingness to learn. The ability to demonstrate effective organization and communication skills is necessary.
