Wisconsin-River Falls (D-III): The UWRF Athletic Performance department is accepting applicants for a 10 month, $8,000 non-benefited position graduate internship to assist with the development of 17 NCAA DIII sports. Successful candidates will have created strong bonds with student-athletes, athletic staff, and will make long lasting impact on the UW-River Falls Athletic Performance program. Newberry College (SC): Newberry College is accepting applications for two positions as Strength and Conditioning Intern and/or Volunteer Assistants for the 2015 fall semester. Responsibilities include: Assisting the Director of Strength and Conditioning with the supervision and training of Newberryβs Strength and Conditioning program including assisting in the implementation of strength programs for all sports including football, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; completion of various educational assignments during the internship are required. Preferred qualifications include: Pursuing Bachelors or Masterβs Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field; CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certifications; CPR certification and coaching experience. This is an unpaid position. Interns and/or Volunteer Assistants will receive professional work experience and receive college credit if applicable. Tarleton State: Per source, former Tulane assistant strength coach Stephanie Sharpe has joined the Tarleton State strength staff as an assistant strength coach.
Marshall: Marshall University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Fall of 2015. The internship begins August 24th and ends December 6th. These are unpaid positions. However, these positions offer an opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours toward a program degree, based on circumstance. The interns that are selected will also have the opportunity to accumulate internship hours in preparation for the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa) Certification Process. Daily responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, assistance in the supervision of the Marshall University Football, Baseball and Softball teams, set up and breakdown for daily strength and conditioning activities, routine maintenance, cleaning, and organization of the training facility.
