Notre Dame: The Strength and Conditioning department at the University of Notre Dame is currently accepting applications for internship positions for the Fall 2015 semester. Interns will have the opportunity to work with all 25 Olympic Sport Teams at the University of Notre Dame. Qualifications: Candidates MUST be enrolled in an institution of higher education AND be receiving class credit. Candidates must possess or be working toward a certification through the CSCCa, NSCA and/or USAW. Candidates must possess one year of previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletic experience. Candidates must have outstanding work ethic and attention to detail. Candidates must have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Compensation: There is no monetary compensation provided. However, the position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours toward a program degree. Interns will receive hands on experience with elite level Olympic Sport teams. Louisiana: The University of Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns Strength & Conditioning Department is seeking 5 highly motivated, intelligent, adventurous, and ambitious interns to serve in a VOLUNTARY role in the 2015 Summer Football Conditioning program. Candidates should be currently enrolled in college, or have a degree, with an intense interest in pursuing a career in Strength and Conditioning. Daily tasks will include : Early morning room preparation, field set up and tear down, daily hygiene maintenance of the facility, nutritional product distribution and maintenance, learning and enforcing proper exercise technique in Olympic lifting and Power lifting movements, creating an environment of positive morale, and daily athlete accountability. We are in a period of transition into a new 12,000 square foot facility, and will be receiving and relocating new equipment throughout July and August. Southwest Oklahoma State: Jared Jackson has been hired as the athletic department's new head strength and conditioning coach. Jackson has been with the SWOSU program for the past two years as a graduate assistant.
Northern State University (D-II - SD): Northern State University is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant in Strength and Conditioning. This position will begin at the end of May 2015. Compensation includes a two thirds tuition waiver and a monthly stipend. Candidates must be admissible to the graduate program, GRE is not required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports. Candidates must hold a BA/BS in exercise science or a health related field and be working toward certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength & Conditioning Association or the SCCC through the CSCCa. Previous strength and conditioning internship experience preferred. Experience with Olympic lifts preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
