Virginia State: The Virginia State University Football Strength and Conditioning department is accepting applications for a VOLUNTEER, unpaid internship for the Fall 2015 semester. The candidate must have a strong passion for the sports performance field, and desire to continue to grow as a strength and conditioning coach. The successful candidate will receive hands-on experience working with a NCAA Division II football team, with the possibility of being assigned additional teams. Volunteer duties will include assisting in the day to day operations of the facility, assistance with administrative duties, cleaning and maintenance duties, set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout, as well as participation in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Preferred qualifications: Currently have or in the process of obtaining a Bachelorβs degree in the strength and conditioning/exercise science field, an SCCC or CSCS certification (preferably), and CPR/AED certifications. Pittsburg State (D-II - KS): Pittsburg State is accepting applications for the position of graduate assistant for strength training and nutrition. Position Duties and Responsibilities: Under general direction, implements, conducts, and monitors strength and conditioning; assists with rehabilitation of injured athletes; assists in management of strength and conditioning facility. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; previous experience in strength and conditioning preferred or related experience. Previous experience with nutrition or a degree in nutrition HIGHLY RECOMMENEDED. National Strength and Conditional Association and Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association certification preferred.
