In college football's strength profession, there are a small handful of coaches who are compensated like an assistant coach with an elite few creeping ever so closely to the million-dollar per year club.
As of last December, eight strength coaches were making $500,000 per year or more. Iowa's Chris Doyle is currently the highest paid strength coach in college football, earning an $800,000 year salary in 2018 after earning $725,000 last season.
Not far behind him is Alabama strength coach Scott Cochran, who made north of $600,000 last season.
While Doyle may have him edged out in salary, Cochran added a commercial appearance to his resume recently, where Regions Bank tapped into his signature intensity to advertise their services. The ad also includes a brief cameo by Nick Saban himself.
