It's often said in coaching circles that football really is a simple game that we all make more complicated than it actually is, and there is a lot of truth to that.
Ohio State recently put out a video where Urban touches on the three keys to winning football games.
The first two are pretty clear cut to coaches:
- Hire great coaches
- Teach great players
The third one is less obvious.
3. Have them [coaches and players] develop a trust
Obviously there is a lot more to winning football games than that simple formula, but I think we can all agree that it's a great foundation to build a program upon.
Meyer believes that third one is so important that he and Ohio State pushed out a special video on the Brotherhood of Trust at Ohio Stateand how they systematically go about creating that culture of trust in their program in Columbus.
The video is outstanding. Check it out and hear more about how Ohio State creates trust in players in coaches.
