Mississippi State: Mississippi State University Department of Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill Spring 2020 internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength and conditioning training programs for various sports, attending to daily maintenance of the training facilities, use of technology/data analysis and professional development throughout the internship program. All interns will also have the ability to fulfill the 640 practicum hours that are required for the SCCC exam if desired. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing NSCA-CSCS and/or CSCCa-SCCC certification(s). Compensation: This is a non-paid volunteer position. You will gain experience as well as the opportunity to learn and grow in the field of Strength and Conditioning. Iowa: The University of Iowa Strength and Conditioning-Olympic Sports is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill Spring 2020 internship positions. Opportunities to work with many performance monitoring technologies including but not limited to: Force Plates, GPS, Omegawave, Tensiomyography and Velocity Based Training systems. CSCCA mentorship is available to assist your eligibility for the certification. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing CSCCA, USAW, or NSCA certification(s). Maryland: The University of Maryland Basketball Performance is accepting applications for a Winter/Spring 2020 semester internship position that would work with Men's & Women's Basketball in the Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the Strength and Conditioning Staff with set up and breakdown of lifts, drills, hydration, equipment and other departmental functions. Required qualifications include completion or working towards an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a nationally credited association (NSCA-CSCS, SCCC), First Aid CPR/AED Certified, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing basic movements. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. Applicants will also be asked to participate in a background check. Georgia Southern: Georgia Southern University Olympic Strength and Conditioning department is looking to fill four to five (4-5) VOLUNTEER assistant positions for Spring 2020. Qualified candidates will work directly with the Georgia Southern Olympic Sports teams including but not limited to; baseball/softball, men’s/women’s basketball, volleyball and men’s/women’s soccer. This is an UNPAID opportunity that provides experience working in a Division I environment within the Sun Belt Conference. Interns will complete a comprehensive internship curriculum designed for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning through mentorship, teaching, professional/personal development and pre-arranged networking opportunities with other college strength coaches. Qualified candidates (CSCS or SCCC) will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions with the implementation of individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. Required qualifications: current CPR / AED; completion of an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Applicants should be working toward or have completed certification(s) from CSCCa and/or NSCA. Seeking those who will embody the Georgia Southern culture: blue collar, servant leaders. Start date (in Statesboro, GA) will be January 5th. There will be potential of retention through the 2020 summer semester.
