East Tennessee State: ETSU Football Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for ONE Graduate Assistant position. The applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science (or related field) and are required to have a certification with the CSCCA-SCCC or the NSCA-CSCS as well as a CPR/AED certification. Applicants should submit a cover letter, resume, and a reference list by April 30th. Subject line should read- ETSU FB Strength GA Position. Louisville: The University of Louisville Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for SUMMER 2019 internship openings. These are UNPAID/VOLUNTEER internships. These positions will begin May 19 and run through late July. Interns will gain practical experience working within a Division 1 FBS, ACC football program. Daily tasks include but are not limited to: aiding in the implementation of training programs, assisting with quantitative data collection, assisting with set up and break down of equipment, daily clean up and maintenance of the weight room. Applicants must be highly self-motivated, able to follow directions, possess excellent communication skills, have a desire to learn, and have an extremely strong work ethic. Qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/AED/First Aid, adapt to demanding schedule, ability to work in a fast paced environment, and a strong desire to become a Strength and Conditioning Coach; CSCS or SCCC preferred but not required. Upon completion of the internship program, individuals will have a better understanding of program design, the potential to earn recommendations for future opportunities, and receive college credit, if applicable. Georgia: University of Georgia Strength and Conditioning Internship Program The University of Georgia Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking highly motivated candidates for the Fall 2019 semester’s internship program. Candidates: that are interested in the internship position may be required to complete the 640 hours required by the CSCCa to take the certification exam. (Not all candidates have to complete CSCCa requirements, however, the option will be available). The program is designed for young strength coaches to gain experience and knowledge in a collegiate setting. Individuals will have an opportunity to work with 17 different Olympic sports and learn under five full time strength coaches, including a Master Strength Coach approved through the CSCCa. Daily responsibilities: will include but are not limited to: assisting with facility maintenance, equipment and training set up, supervision of athletes training sessions, lifting demonstrations, practical skills training, leadership opportunities, working on professional development assignments, reviewing research articles, and working on projects assigned by internship supervisor. Qualifications: currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and a STRONG DESIRE to become a COLLEGIATE STRENGTH and CONDITIONG COACH. Preferred candidates will currently have or pursuing certifications through CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW organizations. Start and finish date will be TBD however approximately (August 8th-December 12th). Compensation: this is a NON-PAID VOLUNTEER POSITION. Interns will accumulate up to 40 hours a week towards (640hr total) CSCCa internship requirements. All candidates will have an opportunity to gain experience and possible recommendations for future employment. Maryland: The University of Maryland is currently accepting applications to fill three (3) Fall 2019 volunteer internship positions. Qualified candidates would work with the Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an UNPAID position that is responsible for assisting the UMD Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the Fall 2019 program (August 19th-December 6th), set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion of Bachelor’s degree by the commencement of the intern program/current pursuit of a graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (USAW, CSCS, CSCCa). Benedictine (NAIA - KS): Benedictine College is currently seeking applicants for a Graduate Assistant (GA) position in the Athletic Performance department. The Graduate Assistant for Athletic Performance is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the coordination of the Strength and Conditioning Programs for Raven Athletics. The GA is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Benedictine College, the Heart of America Athletic Conference (Heart), and the NAIA. Benedictine College is a member of the NAIA. This is a full time, twelve-month position. Essential functions include assisting in the development of maintaining strength and conditioning programs in coordination with the Director of Athletic Performance for several sports. The GA will also assist in the development of strength and conditioning programs in coordination with the athletic training staff and doctors for rehabilitation of student-athletes. The GA will provide student-athletes with guidance and proper training techniques. The GA will develop recommendations for improvements to fitness based equipment to the Director of Athletics. The GA will maintain up-to-date records on the strength and conditioning programs of each team and specific individual training plans of every student- athlete as well as all other duties assigned. Position Qualifications: High level of personal integrity, outstanding work ethic, knowledge of and commitment to NAIA rules and regulations, demonstrated ability to inspire student-athletes to develop to their fullest potential, outstanding skills in oral and written communication, excellent organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple tasks occurring at the same time. Bachelor’s Degree, recognizable certification (CSCS, CSCCa etc.), CPR and AED certified.
