Memphis: University of Memphis Football is looking to fill an athletic development intern position. The goal of our program is to provide an encompassing view of collegiate strength and conditioning, including programming, exercise technique and facility upkeep. The internship position is geared primarily towards Football, but the intern will in addition gain exposure to a diverse array of 14 sports. As an intern in the University of Memphis Athletic Development program you will have the opportunity to gain real world in the trenches coaching experience; you will also learn under the bar while training in the program. Aside from the daily duties required of the position there will be assigned readings and projects to further the development of your knowledge base. This internship is designed for you to develop the needed experience and skills to make you a stronger candidate in taking the next step in your coaching career – this typically being a graduate assistant coaching position. This internship is intended for those whose #1 goal is to become a Strength & Conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Qualifications: In pursuit of or recent completion of a Bachelors degree in an exercise science related field. Experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting. If not already certified you will be expected to begin your certification process towards your CSCS, CSCCa, and/or USAW during your internship. George Washington: George Washington University Strength and Conditioning Internship, Spring 2019 George Washington Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for their Spring 2019 internship. This is a volunteer, UNPAID position and offers Division I experience with 27 varsity sports and training in an educational environment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting the strength and conditioning staff in the training of the George Washington University sports programs; assist with daily administrative, and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; spotting athletes and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. Minimum Qualifications: must have a strong work-ethic, enthusiasm and a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach, and possess or pursuing CPR First Aid certification. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree/pursuing a degree in exercise science or a related field and pursuing one of the following certifications: SCCC; CSCS or USAW. Central Arkansas: The Strength & Conditioning staff at the University of Central Arkansas is now accepting applications for its 2019 Spring Semester Internship Program. This is an unpaid position that lasts for the duration of the spring semester with a start date of January 10, 2019. No monetary compensation or housing will be provided. However, the position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength & conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. This internship is also Mentor Approved for those individuals preparing to complete the required hours for the SCCC certification issued by the CSCCa. Candidates interested in this position should be hardworking, passionate, and detail orientated individuals, who have the desire to work in the strength & conditioning field at the collegiate level. Applicants should either be working towards or hold a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a Health Related field. They should be working toward certification as a SCCC through the CSCCa, or a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA. Responsibilities will include: Daily clean up and maintenance of the facility and all its equipment. Setup and break down of weight room and field for all athletic workouts, and supervision of training sessions. This program will also consist of weekly educational projects and reports. Appalachian State: Appalachian State University Department of Athletics seeks highly motivated candidates for an Intern position to assist with implementation and supervision of strength and conditioning programs for intercollegiate sports. Primary responsibility will be assisting staff with all Olympic Sports programs. A minimum of one year experience in a collegiate strength and conditioning setting is required. Experience with Olympic-style lifting, plyometric training and speed development is required. Successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills to teach/motivate a diverse population of student-athletes, interact with support staff and coaches. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in health/fitness, sport science or related field preferred. Candidate must be working toward certification from either the NSCA - CSCS certification examination and/or CSCCa - SCCC certification examination and have a current CPR and first aid certificate. This internship is for individuals who have the goal of being a collegiate strength & conditioning coach, others need not apply.
