Stanford: Stanford University is accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the Sports Performance program for the 2019 Spring & Winter quarters. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to serve all 36 sports including Football and will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an unpaid opportunity that provides experience assisting the staff to implement individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. The internship includes a curriculum to learn and apply Stanford Sports Performance’s training philosophy. Also part of the curriculum includes strength & conditioning basics, educational presentations, structure & organization, progressions, weight room management/logistics, sport science technologies/concepts, communication with other support staff & coaches, along with informal discussions. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study and CSCS or SCCC certification. Applicants must also have current CPR/AED certification. This internship is expected to begin no later than Sunday, January 6th, 2019, and requires a 6-month time commitment with opportunities to continue pending positive evaluation. During this evaluation, interns will have the opportunity to compete and earn consideration for a paid intern position on the Sports Performance staff. Florida State: Florida State Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for interns for WINTER/SPRING 2019. This is a volunteer, UNPAID, position and offers Division I experience and training in an educational environment and the opportunity for future recommendations or opportunities in the field of strength and conditioning. Responsibilities will include: assist the Football Strength and Conditioning staff in the training of the Florida State University’s Division I football program; assist with daily administrative and maintenance duties; assist in the set-up and break-down of equipment for every workout; spotting athletes; and participate in weekly projects and assignments for the duration of the internship. The internship would start date would be in January and end in April. Minimum Qualifications: must have a strong work-ethic, enthusiasm and a desire to develop the characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field and pursuing CSCS or relevant certification from one of the following: NSCA, CSCS; CSCCA, SCCC; USAW and CPR –First Aid certification. TCU: TCU currently has one internship position available for the 2019 Spring Semester. Internships through the TCU Strength & Conditioning department are currently available for the Spring 2019 semester for those who would like to pursue a career in Strength & Conditioning. The TCU Strength & Conditioning Department is a teaching department that offers our interns hands-on experience as well as prepares them to become qualified Strength & Conditioning professionals. Interns will have the opportunity to work with all sixteen (16) of TCU’s Men’s and Women’s sports totaling more than 500 student-athletes.
This is a non-paid position but offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. Applicants should be: Working towards a certification through NSCA, or CSCCa. Desire to make strength and conditioning your desired profession. One year of previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletic experience. Pursuit of Bachelor’s degree or already possess a Bachelor’s degree. Catawba (D-II - NC): Catawba College Sports Performance is seeking applicants for two part time Sports Performance Coaches. Compensation: monthly stipend. Primary responsibilities include: Assisting with daily Strength and Conditioning operations; program for assigned sports, assist with all aspects of football training, complete educational projects and tasks. Maintaining the Sports Performance facilities, and consulting with the Athletic Training staff on return to play; and other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Sports Performance. Must have a strong work ethic and strong desire to learn and excel in their career as a Sports Performance Coach. Start Date will be January 3rd, 2019. Job Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in an associated field of Study. Must have current Certification through the NSCA, USA-W, or CSCCA. Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification is required. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with programming/internship experience with multiple sports. Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field. Must be open minded, highly motivated, and have a strong desire to start a career in the Sports Performance field. McNeese State (FCS - LA): The McNeese State University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for 2-3 Fall 2018 Volunteer Interns. The internship will last from January 7-May 7. This is an unpaid opportunity that provides experience coaching football, as well as other assigned teams. The individual’s chosen will gain knowledge and experience coaching in a Division I program, as well as future recommendation for employment. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related field, and the desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in a collegiate or professional setting. All applicants should have or be working towards an accredited certification (CSCS or SCCC). Preferred qualifications include previous coaching experience in a collegiate setting and/or former participation in a collegiate competitive sport. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution for the strength and conditioning program of assigned sports, set up and break down of daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum.
