Washington: University of Washington Olympic Strength and Conditioning department is now accepting applications for volunteer intern positions for Spring 2020. Interns will assist the strength and conditioning coaches in the day-to-day operations of the department and will have the opportunity to work with all of the University of Washington's Men's and Women's Olympic Sports. In addition, the educational curriculum includes weekly round table discussion, assignments, and projects led by the strength and conditioning staff. Successful candidates must display a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. In addition, they must be committed to enhancing themselves and the department through a continued eagerness to learn and develop professionally. Candidates must possess or be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in exercise science or a related field. Finally, candidates must be working toward or currently certified by the CSCCA or NSCA. This is an unpaid volunteer position primary responsibilities with the Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning Department. Montana: The University of Montana Sports Performance program is currently seeking UNPAID/volunteer Sports Performance interns to begin in January 2020 and go through May 2020. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to assisting with all Olympic sports and football, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facility, and completion of the internship curriculum. Applicants must have current CPR/AED certification and be certified or working toward certification with the CSCCa (SCCC) and/or NSCA (CSCS). Candidates will gain knowledge of training methodology and program design, and the potential to earn a Graduate Assistant Position for the following fall 2020 semester. Robert Morris (FCS - PA): Robert Morris University is currently seeking THREE qualified volunteer internship candidates for the 2020 Spring Semester. The strength and conditioning program will run from January 6 th (date flexible) to May 1st. This is an unpaid position however, it is acceptable to have a part-time job to assist with personal finances. Chosen candidates can also have the opportunity to complete internship hours required for the CSCCa – SCCC exam under the mentorship of the Head Strength Coach. The daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for 14 DI athletic teams (including Football & Ice Hockey) *Interns coach our athletes on the floor*. Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities. Interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, education in program design and application, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable. The internship program’s goal is to advance the intern’s future in the strength and conditioning profession. Minimum qualifications: Pursuing or have attained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology or related field. Pursuing or have attained relevant certifications: SCCC, CSCS, USAW, FMS, etc. Previous coaching experience in a collegiate, professional, high school or private sector setting. It is strongly advised that all potential candidates make sure that this internship is economically feasible before applying.
