Minnesota: The University of Minnesota Athletic Performance Department is seeking highly motivated applicants to fill Spring 2020 (January 2 nd – May 22 nd ) Sports Science Internship positions. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. Qualified candidates will work directly with Men’s and Women’s Hockey. This internship can be used for course credits. Daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Download/Analyze Catapult and Polar Team 2 data from practices/games/training sessions Conduct/Analyze Tensiomyography and Omegawave tests Download/Analyze Force Plate, MUSCLELAB, EMG, Moxy, 1080 Sprint and Quantum data Professional development, including various educational assignments during the internship Assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs Assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance Responsibilities will be assigned as they are earned. Interested applicants must exhibit effective communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, sense of urgency and strong work ethic. QUALIFICATIONS: Currently pursuing Bachelors/Masters in Exercise Science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and pursuing CSCCa or NSCA certification(s), and proficient in technology. COMPENSATION: This is an un-paid volunteer position. Interns will have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Florida: The University of Florida Football Strength and Conditioning department is looking to fill volunteer internship positions for the 2020 Spring semester. Applicants interested please send resume and references to: Zach Akenberger at Zacha@gators.ufl.edu.

Colorado: The University of Colorado Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for four (4) internship positions for the Spring 2020 Semester (January-May). These are unpaid positions. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the University of Colorado Football team, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. Postgraduate applicants are also required to hold a certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA or CSCCA) and all undergraduate applicants should be working towards their certification. Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the position is filled. Wisconsin: The University of Wisconsin Olympic Strength & Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for volunteer interns for Spring 2020. Application deadline Sunday, October 6th, 2019. This is an UNPAID internship position with the potential for course credit for individuals currently enrolled in a degree seeking program. Internship start date for the spring semester will be Monday, January 6th and will be completed on Friday, May 8th or specified by assigned coach. Hours will be determined by facility and team needs but anticipate early mornings, late nights, weekends and possible holiday responsibilities. Qualifications: Currently pursuing, or a recent graduate of, an exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and a strong desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. Preferred qualification: 1-2 years’ of coaching experience within a collegiate strength and conditioning environment and NSCA, USAW or CSCCa certification(s). Individuals will gain knowledge and experience within a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. Individuals will have the opportunity to work within one of our three Olympic weight rooms on campus. Assignments will be based on staffing needs and strengths of the prospective internship candidates. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision and execution of strength and conditioning related training programs for various sports, providing support for technological services, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities, and progression developmental opportunities throughout the internship program. Kennesaw State: Kennesaw State University is looking for interns for the Spring 2020 semester. This position is voluntary and provides no monetary compensation, housing or meals. Interns at Kennesaw State will work with all teams (Football & Olympic sports) and have the opportunity to COACH every day as well as be mentored through our intensive Internship Curriculum. Ohio: Ohio University is seeking applications for the position of Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach (part-time). Annual compensation is approximately $18,000. Bachelor’s degree required. Experience with collegiate athletes required. CSCS or SCCC, CPR, AED and First Aid certifications are required and USAW certification is preferred. Football, Golf and Swimming/Diving experience preferred. This position reports to the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance. Assist in the training and motivation of 400+ student-athletes to maximize their potential for athletic performance and injury prevention. The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach will, in conjunction with coaches and athletic trainers, organize and design strength, power, speed, agility and flexibility programs for assigned sports: maintain safety, hygiene and efficiency of the Carin Strength Center. Georgia Southern: Georgia Southern University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is looking to fill two to three (2-3) fall 2019 volunteer internship positions IMMEDIATELY. All positions are unpaid (no monetary compensation). To be in consideration for the position, the potential candidates must have their CPR/AED certification. The successful candidates will assist with all daily duties as it pertains to Georgia Southern Strength and Conditioning including but not limited to: data tracking, supplementation, field set up and breakdown and any other duties as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. There will also be a weekly internship development course curriculum. The curriculum is centered on preparing the successful candidates to excel in their next step in the field.
