Missouri S&T: Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) is currently offering a strength and conditioning internship. The internship will be for the duration of the Fall 2018 semester starting on August 13 th and ending December 7 th . This internship will be an educational opportunity including the completion of an internship curriculum along with potential for gaining experience working with a variety of teams, utilization of Excel for updating information, maintenance of a collegiate weight room, education in coaching techniques, etc. The selected candidate will receive close supervision in regard to the previous areas of possible experience. The primary goal of the internship will be to provide instruction and training in the field of collegiate strength and conditioning in order to prepare the intern for a career in this field. QUALIFICATIONS: 1) pursuit or possession of a degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or a related field; 2) CPR/AED certification; 3) strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning at the collegiate level; 4) plans to take the CSCS or SCCC exams (or current CSCS or SCCC certification). Yale: Yale University Sports Performance is looking for candidates to fulfill internship positions with the Football team during the Fall 2018 semester. This internship does not provide monetary compensation, but can be used as continuing education credits (2.0) through the NSCA, or College credit. Along with credit, the internship will provide the opportunity to work hands on with a Football team that has just won the 2017 Ivy Championship and finished #24 in the nation. Along with the Football team, Yale has 30 teams that interns will also have the opportunity to work with for added experience. This is a rigorous internship with hours that would closely mimic that of a full time strength coach. There is a classroom component to this internship, that will include lectures on program design, theory, nutrition, athletic testing, and more. Assignments will be given to test understanding of material and will be required for completion of the internship. The goal of this internship is to ready individuals for full time positions upon completion. Requirements: The ideal candidate would be working towards their Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree. Students who have recently graduated are also welcome to apply. A SCCC / USAW / CSCS certification is preferred but not required. No previous experience is required but strength room experience or collegiate athletic history is preferred. Reporting Dates: August 13th - December 14th. Midwestern State: Midwestern State, a Division II program in Wichita Falls, Texas that competes in the Lone Star Conference. This is a 10-month position (August – May) with opportunity for renewal. This position provides a monthly stipend and assistance with some tuition costs. You must be accepted into graduate school prior to employment in the masters of exercise physiology program. Responsibilities for this position include: Programming and implementation of all aspects of strength and conditioning for up 2 – 3 teams as well as assist with football. Applicants should possess the ability to perform and teach Olympic lifts and their variations. Qualifications will include: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field, have already obtained a certification from the CSCCa, NSCA (CSCS) or USAW, and possess first aid CPR/AED certification. Experience interning/ working in an NCAA weight room and knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel is required.
