Stanford: Stanford University is accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the Sports Performance program for the 2020 Winter & Spring Quarters. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to serve as an intern for the Football Sports Performance Program OR the Olympic Sports Performance Program. With either program, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an UNPAID opportunity that provides experience assisting the sports performance staff with the implementation of comprehensive, sport-specific, injury prevention, mental discipline and performance enhancement training programs. In addition to daily responsibilities, this internship includes a professional development curriculum built on the foundation of the Stanford Sports Performance training philosophies. This curriculum includes education of functional strength training techniques, coaching development, sport-specific conditioning concepts, sport science technologies and applications, professional development presentations, programming, weight room management/logistics, along with injury prevention practices. The goal of this internship is to develop highly effective sports performance coaches with the potential to transition into a paid position with Stanford, another university, or professional organization. Potential candidates must possess a desire to become a collegiate sports performance coach, strong character, and demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills. Required qualifications include: Achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study Achievement or current pursuit of CSCS or SCCC certification. Current CPR/AED certification. This internship is expected to begin Sunday, January 5th, 2020, and requires a 6-month time commitment with opportunities to continue pending positive evaluation. Wyoming: University of Wyoming Football Strength & Conditioning is currently seeking volunteers for an UNPAID internship to contribute to the program for the Spring of 2020. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to assist the full-time staff with training sessions for football in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an unpaid opportunity that offers invaluable knowledge and hands-on experience assisting the full- time coaching staff in all aspects of the strength and conditioning program, and the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Potential candidates must possess a strong work ethic and character, great energy and enthusiasm, as well as the ability to demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Potential candidates must have a great desire to learn about the strength and conditioning profession as well as pursue a career in the collegiate setting. Previous experience in a strength & conditioning program, coaching internship experience, or collegiate athletics experience is preferred but not required. This internship is expected to begin at the end of January 2020 and conclude in May 2020. Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan Sports Performance is seeking highly motivated people to fill the Winter 2020 internship positions working with all 17 NCAA Division 1 sports teams. This internship will start January 6th, 2020 thru April 18th 2020. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. The candidate must be pursuing or have completed a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting staff in the design and implementation of strength programs including set up and breakdown of training equipment; as well as assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility, and ongoing professional development through the internship curriculum. Preferred Qualifications: Intense work ethic, and highly motivated. Experience working in a Strength or Sports Performance environment; currently hold or working towards a nationally- accredited strength and conditioning certification (SCCC or CSCS) PLEASE NOTE: These are non-paid volunteer position. Delaware State: Chris Thompson from the Ohio State has been hired as an assistant strength and conditioning coach and Ashley Muschiatti (previously an intern at University of Delaware) and Cal Laffitte (previously an intern at Georgia) have joined the program as coaching assistants.

Southeast Missouri State: Strength and Conditioning Graduate Assistant positions beginning January 2020. Looking for highly motivated, hard working individuals that understands the needs of the profession. Must be certified or working towards the CSCCa or the NSCA (CSCS), have first aid & CPR certification, and preferably USAW. Graduate Assistant will work as the primary assistant for football and work with other sports (too be determined). Responsibilities will include:aid in Nutrition Center, set up, breakdown, ordering, stocking, and planning; design and implementation of training programs; meet with coaches and athletic trainers to collaborate on program design and modifications; weight room supervision; daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment; and other duties as assigned. The Graduate Assistant position is a two-year assignment beginning in 2020 academic year and includes a tuition waiver for graduate credit hours and a monthly stipend. Delaware State:Department of Strength & Conditioning is accepting applications for 2 Administrative Strength and Conditioning interns. This is an UNPAID position and responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision and training of DSU’s 18 D1 intercollegiate athletic programs; Assisting with daily administrative and maintenance items; Completion of various educational assignments during the paid-internship. Qualifications include: Strong work ethic; Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Desire to further one’s career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Preferred qualifications include: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Physical Education, Exercise Science or related field; NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa-SCCC, or USAW certifications; CPR certification and coaching experience. Individuals chosen for position are subject to university background checks and standard hiring procedures. This position will allow the opportunity to receive experience working with all DSU’s Division1 programs, work under a staff of seasoned NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa-SCCC, USAW certified coaches, better understand program design, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.
