Stanford: Stanford University is accepting applications for volunteer intern coaches to contribute to the Sports Performance Program. Qualified candidates will serve all 36 sports including Football, and will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an unpaid opportunity that provides experience assisting the staff to implement individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study and CSCS or SCCC certification. Applicants must also have current CPR/AED certification. This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, September 4th 2017, and requires a 3-month time commitment with opportunities to continue pending positive evaluation. During this evaluation, interns will have the opportunity to compete and earn a paid intern position on the Sports Performance staff. Deadline to apply is: Friday, June 30th 2017. South Carolina: The University of South Carolina is currently accepting applications for volunteer strength & conditioning coaches for the 2017 Fall Semester to work with the football team. Highly motivated and disciplined individuals are encouraged to apply. The individual will be expected to contribute at a high level from the first day and responsibilities will be dictated by performance and attitude. Preferred qualifications include: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certifications; CPR/AED certification and previous coaching experience at the college level. Youngstown State (FCS - OH): Youngstown State University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns or the Fall of 2017. This internship will begin between August 1st and August 12th and will conclude in December or at the conclusion of FCS Playoffs. This is an unpaid position. Individuals will gain experience in a Division I collegiate strength & conditioning setting, as well as future recommendation for employment. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for the YSU team and other University Athletic Programs, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance and cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. All applicants should have, or be working towards an accredited certification (USAW, CSCS, or SCCC). Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. North Florida: North Florida is looking to hire a strength and conditioning intern. Qualifications: Student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science with the desire to develop college athletes. Experience in program development and implementation: including knowledge in functional / sport specific - agility, speed, flexibility, plyometric, and weight training. Full and Part- Time positions available. Compensation: Valuable experience working with Division-I athletes.
