Rutgers: Rutgers Olympic Strength and Conditioning department is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill 2 paid internship positions the Spring 2019 semester. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience working in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. It may fulfill course credit if necessary. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, daily maintenance of the training facilities, and professional development assignments throughout internship curriculum. Qualification: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Prefer SCCC or CSCS certfication(s). Compensation: contingent on experience. Coastal Carolina: Coastal Carolina University is seeking a Professional Intern to work with its Baseball Athletic Performance. This position will work directly with both the strength coach and athletic training coordinators for baseball. This is an unpaid position. However, the applicant will receive direct HANDS ON experience with programming, implementation, daily operations of strength and conditioning/fueling routines and styles used in the weight room and in kitchen, and being a part of a National Championship athletic performance team. Applicants must possess or be in pursuit of a BA/BS. Desirable characteristics of applicants include: passionate about working with athletes, very dependable, organized and hard working. Preferential consideration will be made for applicants who have experience playing baseball and/or want to be a baseball strength coach. This is a unique opportunity for interested applicants to gain working knowledge of how we implement our program to make a difference for baseball at Coastal Carolina. There will be opportunities to work with other sports, if desired. This position will begin in January. We will only take two professional interns for this position, and our five professional interns received full-time positions in their desired field upon completion of the internship. Murray State: Murray State University Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER COACHES/INTERNSfor the 2019 spring semester.Applicants will be involved in every process of a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. You will also be asked to be responsible for coaching your own group of student athletes in the weight room with each sport you are assigned. This is hands on experience daily with multiple student athletes. Other daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs, working and maintaining our nutrition program, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the workplace day in and day out, , and assist in creating a competitive training atmosphere. NO MONETARY COMPENSATION WILL BE PROVIDED. Murray State is an approved mentor location for the CSCCa. This mentorship can be provided for applicants seeking to earn their SCCC. Our coaches will also help applicants seeking to earn other certification as well. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework for undergraduate degree in exercise physiology or a related field of study. Robert Morris: Robert Morris University is currently seeking qualified volunteer internship candidates for the 2019 Spring Semester. The strength and conditioning program will run from January 7 th (date flexible) to May 3 rd . This is an unpaid position however, it is acceptable to have a part-time job to assist with personal finances. Chosen candidates can also have the opportunity to complete internship hours required for the CSCCa – SCCC exam under the mentorship of the Head Strength Coach. The daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for 16 DI athletic teams (including Football & Ice Hockey), Attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities, Professional development throughout the semester, Any other tasks assigned by the strength and conditioning staff. Interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, education in program design and application, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities, have the potential to advance within the department and/or receive college credit if applicable. The internship program’s goal is to advance the intern’s future in the strength and conditioning profession. Minimum Qualifications: Strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm. Effective communication skills. Desire to become a strength and conditioning coach. First Aid, CPR & AED certified. Preferred Qualifications: Pursuing or have attained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology or related field. Pursuing or have attained relevant certifications: CSCS, USAW, FMS, etc. Previous coaching experience in a collegiate, professional, high school or private sector setting.
