Legendary HS head coach Mike Pettine Sr., who spent 33 seasons leading the program at Central Bucks West HS (PA) where he won 326 games and four state titles, has sadly passed away at his winter home in Florida. He's the father of former Browns head coach Mike Pettine Jr. Please join us in keeping his family in your prayers.
Georgia: Running backs coach Del McGee has earned a $75,000 raise to $350,000 annually, and strength and conditioning coordinator Scott Sinclair has earned a raise of $80,000 to bring his annual salary to $300,000, per DawgNation.
North Alabama (D-II): Per source, Drew Hall has been hired to coach the wide receivers. Hall spent last season coaching the wide receivers at Mississippi Gulf Coast CC (JC)
Green Bay Packers: 49ers director of college scoutingMatt Malaspina, who spent the past 12 seasons in San Francisco, is joining the Packers per multiple reports.
Mississippi Valley State (FCS): Jeff Sawyer, the former head coach at Desire Street Academy (LA), has been hired to coach the linebackers
Alabama State (FCS): Per source, former Tennessee State defensive coordinator Osita Alaribe has been hired as the new defensive coordinator at Alabama State.
North Texas: Head coach Seth Littrell has received a new 5-year deal taking him through the 2021 season. Littrell led the team to a 5-8 record in his first season, a four game improvement from their 1-11 mark in 2015.
MidAmerica Nazarene (NAIA - KS): Per source. Connor Benado has been hired as a defensive graduate assistant working with the linebackers. Benado recently wrapped up his playing career at linebacker for MidAmerica Nazarene.
Wisconsin: The school has now announcedBob Bostad's appointment as inside linebackers coach. Bostad previously spent the past 27 years as an assistant on the offensive side of the ball, including 2006-2011 coaching the Badgers tight ends and offensive line.
Marshall: Miami Carol City HS (FL) head coach Aubrey Hill is expected to join the staff as wide receivers coach, according to Bruce Feldman.
Springfield College (D-III - MA): Springfield College a division III institution located in Springfield, MA has multiple graduate assistant positions open for the 2017 season for both Offense and Defense. The position covers a full time academic course load (the academic programs typically take two years to complete) and a small stipend. There is no housing or meals associated with these positions. Graduate assistants at Springfield will have their own position group to work with where they will be expected to run their own meetings, plan practice, run individual time, contribute to game planning, work with special teams, and other duties assigned by the head coach. The candidate will also be responsible for the recruitment of student athletes, and will be expected to recruit on the road year round. Preference will be given to candidates with experience coaching at the high school or collegiate level as well as skills with Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point, Visio), DVSport, Hudl and Photoshop. The position is contingent upon being accepted to graduate school at Springfield College. Candidates must have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher, and may have to take the GREs, depending on their academic program of study. Methodist (D-III - NC): Daniel McKenna (special teams coordinator) and Maurice Hart (linebackers) have both joined the staff. McKenna most recently coached at Anna Maria College coordinating the special teams and Hart coached the defensive backs at Cortland State (D-III - NY).
Valdosta State (D-II - GA): Per source, David Rowe has been hired to coach the defensive backs. Rowe most recently was the defensive coordinator at Rockledge HS (FL) and has previously worked with the Tampa Bay Bucs and with PJ Fleck at Western Michigan as a graduate assistant.
Tennessee: Sources tell FootballScoop, FIU receivers coach Kevin Beard is a strong candidate for the receivers position at Tennessee. Beard, a former receiver at Miami, was on staff at Miami (with Tennessee OC Larry Scott) in 2014 & '15, served as an offensive quality control at Georgia for the 2016 season and had joined Butch Davis' staff at FIU a few months back.
Rutgers: Defensive backs coach Bill Busch has added the title of co-defensive coordinator.
North Carolina: Mike Ekeler has officially been announced as linebackers coach.
Arizona: UTEP wide receivers coach Theron Aych is joining the Arizona staff as wide receivers coach, per SB Nation. We can confirm the hire. Prior to UTEP, Aych was the offensive coordinator and assistant head coach for five seasons at Angelo State (D-II - TX).
John Carroll (D-III - OH): Head coach Rick Finotti has finalized his coaching staff as follows; Michael Switzer (OC), Nick Alexander (passing game coordinator), Bryan Beigie (WRs), Tony Binker (TEs), Kyle Hoke (DC / DBs), Jeff Long Jr. (DL), and Frank Finotti (defensive assistant). Rom Szymanski (RBs), Chris Rizzo (offensive assistant coach) and Jimmy Rich (defensive quality control) will all return from the previous staff.
Pitt: Pat Narduzzi has announced the additions of former Indiana tight ends / fullbacks coach James Patton (offensive quality control assistant), and Butler defensive coordinator Tim Cooper (defensive quality control).
Briar Cliff (D-III - IA): Kai Ellis has joined the staff as assistant head coach / defensive coordinator. Ellis spent two seasons at West Hills College (JC - CA), most recently as the defensive coordinator.
Bucknell (FCS - PA): Sources tell FootballScoop that former Syracuse wide receivers coach Rob Acosta is joining the staff as offensive coordinator. Acosta is the former head coach at Widener (D-III - PA).
