Sitting at 5-5 with games against Miami (FL) and North Carolina remaining, a report from 247 Sports released today states that Dave Doeren will return to coach the program in 2017.
Doeren's current buyout, if the Pack had decided to go in another direction, currently sits at $2.52 million.
Overall, Doeren is 23-25 leading the program in over four seasons. The Pack went 3-9 in his first season, hit 8-5 in year two, and went 7-6 the third season before the 5-5 start this year. In the ACC, Doeren has won 8 games, and lost 22 with 2014 and 2015 being his best win totals at three each season.
Prior to coming to Raleigh, Doeren led the Northern Illinois program to new heights, going 23-4 in two seasons with a trip to a BCS Bowl game (Orange Bowl) in 2012. Prior to the big bowl game, Doeren took the NC State job and headed south.
