It's hard to believe that Deion Sanders is entering just his third season as a head college football coach as he enters his first fall as the head coach at Colorado.
For each of those years, fans have grown accustomed to having cameras close by following his every move and decision, and because of that unique approach, the health issues Coach Prime has encountered with his foot have been well documented.
After complications from a previous surgery caused Sanders to miss three games last fall leading Jackson State (FCS - MS), he later had to have two toes amputated on his left foot.
Now, Sanders shared via a recent Instagram video featuring a meeting with his medical team, that having his foot amputated is a real possibility.
Doctors shared that his troubled foot previously had the same blood pressure as his healthy arm, but the blood flow to that area had dropped significantly, meaning that the arteries have shut down.
That was when doctors shared that if things continue to cascade in a less-than-positive direction, Sanders could "lose the foot."
Doctors would go on to recommend rest as the best course of action, and Deion shared that if they need to do any type of procedure that the summer is best.
“I want to do it this summer, because when we get rolling, I’m not going to have time to do it,” Sanders told the doctors. “This is the best down time I have.”
