Urban responds to report of him targeting Ohio State staffers and offers more on his Jaguars staff (Featured)

Today, Meyer shared more on the topic of his potential staff, noting that he has 479 message he's working through, and that his primary focus right now is assembling an elite staff.

He was sure to note that he doesn't want good coaches, he wants to bring great coaches to rebuild the Jaguars.

Urban had a big grin on his face when asked if he had plans to raid the Ohio State staff to reunite with some of the guys he initially brought to Columbus and opted to stick around under Ryan Day, calling the staff in place at Ohio State one of the best infrastructures in college sports.

Meyer shared that one of the following staff members - assistant athletic director for football sports performance Mickey Marotti, director of player personnel Mark Pantoni, and director of player development Ryan Stamper - might end up leaving, but raiding the Ohio State staff for coaches and upsetting their operation in Columbus wasn't something that he was interested in doing. something that he was not interested in doing.

“I talked to Gene and I talked to Coach Day, and you know my affection for both of those guys and the great university that we represented, and I won’t do that."

"Does that mean there might be one? Maybe. I’m not there yet. I told Gene, ‘Yeah, Coach Marotti, Pantoni, the whole crew’s leaving,’ and they’re like ‘What?’ No, that’s the best infrastructure in college sports, so no, they will not be leaving."

“There might be one, that will leave, but I am not gonna do that to that organization. And I’m not sure they would go. Ohio State is home to those guys now.”

"I won't do that," Urban added.

Asked about his health, and how his approach will change for his first foray into the NFL, he shared:

"Times are changing. College football is different. The days of coaching like I did when I was at Bowling Green are gone. You have to change. That's the part of the game that I love."

Owner Shad Khan shared that the team plans to have their GM in place within the next week, and that they will be a coach-driven organization.
