Rice: Defensive coordinator Brian Smith has been retained. Also, linebackers coach Jon Kay will remain on staff, new head coach Scott Abell has announced.

UMass: Source tells FootballScoop the entire assistant coaching staff has been let go. 

UAB: Sources tell FootballScoop Trent Dilfer is planning to release defensive coordinator Sione Ta'ufo'ou from his contract and will hire a new defensive coordinator.

Fresno State: The addition of USC linebackers coach Matt Entz, the former head coach at North Dakota State, as the Bulldogs new head coach has been finalized.

Oklahoma State: Mike Gundy and the Cowboys are making significant staff changes on both sides of the ball.

Ball State: New head coach Mike Uremovich has released all assistants that were part of Mike Neu's staff, per source.

Tennessee: Ball State assistant director of football operations Madison Surface has joined the Vols staff as recruiting coordinator.

Hiram (D-III - OH): Head coach Jack Mrozinksi Jr. has been let go and defensive coordinator / safeties coach Tanner Niles and offensive coordinator / quarterbacks / tight ends coach Haydn Warren will serve as interim head coaches.

Austin (D-III - TX): Austin College in Sherman, TX is seeking a Division III game for September 20, 27, or October 4. Email tjwhite@austincollege.edu if interested.

Virginia: Head coach Tony Elliott shared today that he doesn't anticipate any changes to his coaching staff "as of right now." The Cavaliers finished the season 5-7 in Elliott's third season at the helm.

Mississippi Valley State (FCS): Source tells FootballScoop the program is parting ways with Kendrick Wade after two seasons.

College Football Playoff: There's a whole lot of debate about the last few spots in the 12-team playoff. Here's a simple solution to make sure the 12 best teams get in.

Ohio State: Ryan Day notes today that he expects to be back leading the Buckeyes next season, and that he's never considered leaving Ohio State for another job, "No. No. This is a wonderful place. I got a great job. One of the best jobs in America." The Buckeyes have lost the last four in a row to rival Michigan, but have a chance to make some noise in the upcoming College Football Playoff.

Oklahoma: Brent Venables confirmed Oklahoma plans to retain all of its offensive assistants for 2025. 

North Carolina A&T (FCS): Vincent Brown will not return after two seasons atop the program.

South Carolina: Sources tell FootballScoop South Carolina is planning to hire TCU AD Jeremiah Donati in the same capacity. 

Southwest Mississippi CC (JC): Per source, Carter Hankins has accepted the offensive coordinator job. He spent last season as the quarterbacks coach at Holmes CC (JC - MS).

North Greenville (D-II - SC): Head coach Jeff Farrington has stepped down after leading the program for over a decade. The Trailblazers finished 6-5 this fall.

Lindsey Wilson College (NAIA - KY): Lindsey Wilson is accepting applications for a full-time Offensive Assistant Coach. This is a 12-month competitive salaried position with benefits. All positions will be considered but this is not a Coordinator position. Ball State: On the morning of national signing day, Ball State announced their new head coach who arrives with MAC and ACC experience after building a ranked FCS program.

Kennesaw State: Jerry Mack is hiring his new offensive coordinator off of Josh Heupel's staff at Tennessee sources tell FootballScoop.

Texas Tech: A Big 12 defensive coordinator is a strong candidate to take the same job in Lubbock, sources tell FootballScoop.

Waynesburg (D-III - PA): Waynesburg University is seeking applicants for the full-time position of Assistant Football Coach. Prior successful experience in coaching on an intercollegiate or professional level. Experience as coordinator preferred. Candidates must have experience in recruiting at the Division III level. Candidates must submit a resume/cv, letter of interest, along with a written statement that articulates how the candidate intends to demonstrate his/her Christian faith through the Mission of the University, his/her professional responsibilities, relationships and the mentoring of students. Tulane: Asked about his name being attached to some high profile job openings, Jon Sumrall responded, "None of that stuff is really relevant to me. I'm so locked in on this game." Tulane will face Army Friday night at 8pm on ABC.

Oklahoma: OU has hired former AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson to restructure its football program.
