Duquesne: Duquesne University: Duquesne University Sports Performance is looking for qualified strength and conditioning interns for the Spring 2025 semester. Daily responsibilities include: assisting with the set up and break down of weight room and fields for conditioning workouts; facility management; assist with supervision and demonstration during the training sessions.  Applicants must be highly motivated, able to follow directions, desire to learn, and have a strong work ethic. The successful applicants should be working towards earning their Bachelor’s degree and a certification from the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCA, USAW and/or have experience as a collegiate athlete.  A CPR/AED certification is required.  This is an unpaid position, however, volunteers will receive experience working at a Division I program, be able to assist staff members with Catapult GPS data collection, better understanding of program design, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable.  Please send a cover letter, resume, and three professional references in (1) PDF document to: Chris Gilman, Sports Performance Coach, at gilmanc@duq.edu. New Mexico: The University of New Mexico is looking to hire a strength and conditioning intern. The S&C Intern, Football, contributes to the successful development and execution of the football S&C program, as well as assists student athletes with achieving their identified goals. They participate in the planning, design, and implementation of an effective strategy to maximize the physical capabilities and athletic performance of team members. They are educated on how to analyze individual player needs, provide instruction on proper techniques, and achieve established targets, maintain weight rooms and equipment, adhere to compliance requirements, and support sports program needs. They perform their work under the direct supervision of the Football S&C Coaching staff. Spring Semester: 21 Jan – 1 May 2024. Additional Job Description: Education; Working towards or possess a Bachelor’s degree.Experience: Some experience in strength and conditioning or sports at any level is required. Licensure: Interest in earning certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCC) is required.
