South Carolina: The University of South Carolina Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for the Spring of 2021. We are looking to fill positions immediately, the internship will conclude at the end of May 2021 with the opportunity to stay through the summer. This is an unpaid position. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to; assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for Football, set up and break down for daily training, routine maintenance/cleaning of the training facilities, and completion of the internship curriculum. Required qualifications include a strong work ethic, completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional in the collegiate or professional setting. All applicants should have, or be working towards an accredited certification (CSCS or SCCC). Other preferred qualifications include previous coaching in a collegiate setting and personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport. Applications will be taken until the positions are filled. West Texas A&M: West Texas A&M University is a NCAA Division II Institution competing in the Lone Star Conference. WT is located in Canyon, TX 15 minutes from Amarillo. Position Description: Assist Athletic Performance Staff with supervision and implementation of performance enhancing programs for 14 varsity teams. This position will be responsible for design and implementation of strength, power, speed, agility and conditioning programs for teams as assigned by the Director of Athletic Performance. Assist with the implementation of programs for other teams not in direct supervision of including football, baseball and track & field. Work in conjunction with the Sports Medicine staff to rehabilitate injuries and implement injury prevention protocols. Other day to day duties include supervising student interns, communication with sport coaches, as well as maintenance and upkeep of the weight room. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field required. SCCC or CSCS certification and CPR required. USAW certification and previous collegiate athletic experience preferred. Experience with various Olympic sports preferred. Acceptance into WT graduate program is REQUIRED. Applicant must possess good organizational and communication skills, have a strong interest in becoming an athletic performance coach, be a self-starter, hard working and have the ability to demonstrate and teach all lifts. Start date is flexible. This is an UNPAID position. Please do not apply if this is not economically feasible for you. Southern Miss: The University of Southern Mississippi Football Strength & Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2021. The duration of the internship is JAN 17th – May 1st, with the opportunity to stay longer. You will receive hands on experience with the Golden Eagle Football Team. This internship will prove to be invaluable for those interested or wanting to get started in the Strength & Conditioning profession. This is an UNPAID position. However, the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. This position would assist in the implementation of our program, set up and break down of all workouts and maintenance and upkeep of our weight room. Required qualifications include having or working towards a degree, a relentless work ethic, attention to detail, a desire to become a strength and conditioning coach and a great attitude. Preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized strength and conditioning association (USAW, CSCS, CSCCa), previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. Northwest Missouri State: The Northwest Missouri State University Strength & Conditioning staff is looking for qualified applicants for a graduate assistant position. This position will expect to be an essential part of the S&C staff and will have many responsibilities. Those responsibilities include but are not limited to; Programming and implementation for their sport(s), assistance in the implementation for other teams, basic weight-room setup & cleanup, and intern development. Overall accountability and high work ethic are required. Applicants should be CPR/AED certified, and either currently hold a nationally recognized Strength & Conditioning certification, or be actively pursuing certification. A bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related Health Science field from a recognized college or university is also necessary. At least 1 year as a Strength Coach, or S&C intern is required. This position is expected to hold the title of Coach with reverence and high character. Work and presence on the floor will be expected early mornings, between classes, and in the evenings if necessary. LSU: Louisiana State University is currently accepting applications for 2 Spring 2021 Volunteer Internship positions. Qualified candidates would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department as well as other Olympic sports. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the LSU Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the Spring program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands on experience training collegiate athletes. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Participation in Collegiate Athletics is preferred. Other preferred qualifications include certification from an accredited organization, previous coaching experience, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply.
