South Alabama: The football strength and conditioning staff at The University of South Alabama is currently accepting applications for UNPAID summer internships. This position will begin Sunday January 12th, 2025 and go through Friday, May 2nd, 2025, with the potential to carry on into the summer. Applicants should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a related field. Completion of this internship can fulfill credit hours towards a program degree and offer increased opportunities for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning. Preferred qualifications include certification(s) from one or more of the following organizations: The CSCCa (SCCC), NSCA (CSCS), or USAW. Preferred qualifications also include previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching basic weight room exercises. This position is responsible for assisting the football strength and conditioning staff with the implementation of the off-season program, set up and break down of all training sessions, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room/facility, and hands-on experience training division-I collegiate athletes. Washington: The UW Football S&C department is now accepting applications for Volunteer Interns for Winter 2025. Completing this internship provides valuable Division 1 Football S&C experience as well as the potential for an earned recommendation from our staff. A number of our former interns have used this experience to propel themselves into very successful careers in S&C. You will be hands-on working with our athletes, participating in an educational curriculum which will include assignments, labs, and lectures from our staff members that will prepare you to be a better Strength & Conditioning Coach. Additionally, our internship counts toward the CSCCA practicum experience requirement. Successful applicants should have a strong work ethic and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. This volunteer internship will start on Saturday 1/18/25 and end Friday 3/14/25. Western Illinois (FCS): Western Illinois University is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant Sports Performance Coaching position. The position of Graduate Assistant for Sports Performance is responsible for directly assisting the Director of Sports Performance in all aspects of developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for 17 Division I sport programs. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to; implement strength and conditioning programs for assigned sport teams, coordinate times for assigned teams around class and team schedules in conjunction with weight room and strength staff, assist with and conduct periodic performance and strength testing, stay abreast of current trends in the field, and other duties as assigned. This position requires a CSCS and/or a SCCC coaching credential, CPR/First Aid certification and the ability to work flexible hours. Graduate assistant positions include a monthly stipend plus tuition (employment is contingent upon proof of admission to the Graduate School).
