Maryland: The University of Maryland Olympic Strength and Conditioning Staff is currently seeking qualified candidates for the summer of 2023. This is an UNPAID position. Responsibilities include assisting full time staff with the implementation of the summer 2023 programs, training session set up, maintenance of weight room facilities, etc.… This internship will provide the opportunity to gain valuable experience with exercise program and design. Building a network with full-time coaches in the field, hands-on coaching as well as the understanding of daily operations within a BIG Ten strength and conditioning staff. Central Michigan: Central Michigan University Strength and Conditioning is currently accepting applications for Summer internship positions. Accepted applicants will gain practical experience in an NCAA Strength and Conditioning environment where they will assist with the implementation of all aspects of Strength and Conditioning programs for Central Michigan Varsity Sports. Our interns are given exposure to a multitude of technology and nutrition elements that support our high-performance department. This includes experience with GPS, Tendo units, and management of fueling stations. Interns will also be responsible for completion of the eight week-long education curriculum in which assignments such as reading, writing, programming, and presenting will be asked of them. Interns will also engage in deliberate discussion regarding relationships and leadership principles. In addition, interns will be expected to assist in the daily upkeep of the facility. It is preferred that applicants are interested in pursuing a future career in the field of strength and conditioning/sports performance. Interns will have the opportunity to serve under a CSCCa-Approved Mentor (necessary for SCCC certification). This internship requires a driven individual with a strong work ethic. North Texas: UNT Football is seeking 2-3 qualified unpaid interns for the summer of 2023. Interns will assist with the daily set-up of a Division-1 FBS football strength and conditioning program. Requirements for the internship are as follows: Individuals pursuing a career in strength and conditioning, eager to learn, punctual, and hard-working. Only apply if this internship is feasible. No compensation will be provided. Interns will be put through curriculum teaching the X's and O's of strength and conditioning. This position will provide interns experience with well-connected strength and conditioning professionals. This position will be prepared for certification exams following the internship and it will be highly suggested to sit for certification during or following the internship. The term of the internship may be extended if the intern provides adequate performance. School grades 6-8. Oversee nutrition education, accountability, and implementation at the 6th-12th grade levels. Work in tandem with athletic trainers to mitigate injuries. Oversee and implement sports psychology programs with head coaches of each sport at the high school level.
