North Carolina: The University of North Carolina Olympic Sports Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for the SUMMER 2023 Athletic Development Internship Program. This is an unpaid position. Start date: MAY 15, 2023, End Date: AUGUST 4, 2023. Intern responsibilities include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs; Assisting with daily operations and facility/equipment maintenance; Completion of various educational assignments during the internship; Sport Science data acquisition and organization. Intern qualifications include: Punctuality; Enthusiasm; Strong work ethic; Ability to volunteer a minimum of 40 hours per week. Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a bachelor's degree in exercise science or related field; SCCC, CSCS, or USAW certification; CPR certification and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Interns will receive experience working in a Division I environment, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit, if applicable. Interns will also have the opportunity to gain the 640 practicum/internship hours required for the CSCCa exam. Benedict (D-II - SC): Benedict College is accepting applications for the position of Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Benedict is a member of NCAA Division II and competes in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Benedict College won the SIAC's Commissioner's Cup for the 21-22 academic year. This position is a full-time salaried position and will start immediately in a 1 year old facility. The Head Strength and Conditioning Coach will oversee all aspects of a comprehensive strength and conditioning program including, but not limited to, development and implementation of performance enhancement, sport specific conditioning and injury programs for more than 250 student-athletes. Responsibilities will also include scheduling and managing the daily operations of the intercollegiate weight room, main fitness room, and maintenance of all related equipment. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. Master's degree is preferred. Three (3) years of intercollegiate strength and conditioning experience is preferred. Experience with both men’s and women’s athletics is preferred. AED/CPR certification is required. Current National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) or Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCA) certification required.
