Sources: Purdue making impressive recruiting coordinator hire from SEC power (Purdue)

With previous experience in the Big Ten as well as a strong run the past two years as the University of Tennessee's assistant director of recruiting, Jessica Stinger is taking over her own Big Ten program's recruiting department -- and returning home in the process.

An Indiana native, Stinger is leaving Rocky Top to become Ryan Walters' inaugural director of recruiting for the Purdue Boilermakers.

Stinger's exit from Tennessee leaves behind a prime opportunity with the Vols, who had a breakthrough 2022 season that culminated in an Orange Bowl win.

Additionally, Stinger, an integral part of the Vols' resurgent recruiting efforts in a talented department that includes director Angelia Brummett and veteran personnel experts Jake Breske and Brandon Lawson, among others, rises to once again take over a Power-5 recruiting department. She ran all on-campus recruiting for Nebraska in 2019.

Her previous stops included recruiting work at Colorado State, MTSU and a three-year run at Indiana, where she grew under the tutelage of the well-regarded Matt Wilson.

Purdue is in the early stages of the Walters era after the former Illinois defensive coordinator was hired as the replacement for Jeff Brohm, who left the Boilermakers to return to his alma mater, Louisville, after the 2022 regular season.
