Arthur Smith already is busy seeking to organize his first staff as Atlanta Falcons head coach.
According to sources with direct knowledge who spoke to FootballScoop Monday on condition of anonymity, Smith interviewed Carolina Panthers assistant Frisman Jackson Sunday for the Falcons' offensive coordinator position.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network has reported on Jackson interviewing as well.
Jackson, seen as a rising commodity in coaching circles, also has interviewed for at least one NFL quarterbacks coaching post.
Though Jackson is the Panthers' wide receivers coach and also has spent his entire coaching career in charge of wideouts, the position he played both collegiately and briefly in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns, Jackson also has passing game coordinator experience at both Temple University and Baylor University at the collegiate level.
Jackson is viewed in coaching circles as ready to take the next step and capable of being more involved in a greater offensive coaching role.
Jackson has spent the past three seasons on Matt Rhule's staff โ two at Baylor and the 2020 campaign as part of Rhule's inaugural season as Panthers' head coach.
