According to a comment made by a university president today, we could get an final answer from another Power Five league on whether they plan to play this fall.
Matt Baker tweets that Florida State president John Thrasher shared that the ACC presidents are meeting today at 4:30 EST, and he believes that a final decision will be made about fall sports at that meeting.
I have every reason to believe it will be the final, final recognition of whether we play fall sports or not,” Thrasher told the Tampa Bay Times. “I have every reason to believe it will be a positive recognition.”
Ross Dellenger adds that the meeting was previously schedule and presidents are expected to receive an official medical report from the advisory board.
Already, the Big Ten and PAC-12 have decided to postpone their fall season in hopes of playing in the Spring. The Big 12 has come out and publicly stated their intention to move forward with football in the fall, despite COVID concerns.
This morning, New Mexico State announced their decision to not play football this fall, bringing the total number of schools opting out of a fall football season to 54 out of 130 programs.
