Today is a day filled with exciting new beginnings and big decisions for recruits and their families.
While on a call with a recent Terps commit earlier today, Maryland head coach Mike Locksley shared some wisdom that puts the monumental decisions of the day in perspective in a unique way.
"Next to picking a wife, this is the second most important decision he'll make in his life," Locksley tells a mom of a recruit on the other end of the call.
"And this is really the first decision that he is making, as a man," Locksley adds.
The whole call is a really good listen, and provides a glimpse into why coach Locks has been highly regarded for years as one of the best recruiters in college football for much of his career.
The analogy about bringing the young man to the front of "the bridge of manhood," is a nice touch too.
