Deion Sanders shares Colorado player Nikhil Webb Walker dealing with cancer diagnosis (Nikhil Walker)

Nikhil Webb Walker is in his first season as a Colorado Buffalo and his first playing for Deion Sanders, but Coach Prime wants the transfer defensive end to know he is being wrapped in love by the Colorado football program after Walker's cancer diagnosis.

In a video shared Friday evening, Deion Sanders greets Nikhil Webb Walker in front of the entire Colorado team as the Buffaloes prepare for their Saturday night home tilt against Big 12 Conference foe Cincinnati.

The sophomore defensive end Walker has not played in a game this month after appearing in three contests for Colorado in September.

As Walker reveals in the video, there's a daunting reason he now is away from the team.

"So, I just one morning woke up with a bump on my chest," says Walker, a Jamaica native who's at Colorado after beginning his collegiate career at New Mexico State. "I thought it was going to go away. I waited a week or two.

"I had a biopsy, surgery; they cut my bump open, put me to sleep. (Thursday), the doc was like, 'You've got Lymphoma. You're going to need to do a round of chemo just to get rid of it, but it's very treatable.'"

Walker said he was trying to keep the news to himself because he "didn't want to be a distraction to the team."

Deion Sanders corrected that mindset in an instant.

"First of all, you're never a distraction," Deion Sanders told Walker and the team. "You're a blessing. And you allows us to understand what life really is.

"We play the college game we call football and we can make millions of dollars it and we can give people satisfaction. ... But what you're dealing with is real, and the way you've dealt with it has been just admirable.

"We love you. We appreciate you. We're here for you."

As he prepared to give the floor to Walker, Deion Sanders made sure he let his sophomore defensive end know that the Buffaloes wanted to be there for Walker.

"We really want to wrap around our arms around him and let him know we love him and we care," Sanders said.
