Deion Sanders decided to make a controversial change at offensive coordinator back in early November, transitioning Sean Lewis out of the role in favor of NFL veteran play caller Pat Shurmur.
The adjustment in roles didn't stop Lewis, who had led the Buffs to a top 40 offense prior to the change, from going out and getting a head coaching opportunity as he was formally announced as the new head coach at San Diego State last week.
Now, according to a report from Brian Howell, Lewis is poaching a Buffs legend and current coach Prime staffer for a role on his new staff.
Darian Hagan, who has a total of 12 seasons on staff working with the running backs between two different stints, has accepted the running backs job with the Aztecs, the report shares.
When Sanders came to Boulder, Hagan was moved to an ambassador role for the program and worked in an off-field capacity this past season.
A Colorado legend, Hagan was the Buffs quarterback during their national title run in 1990. He was elected to the Colorado Hall of Fame in 2002.
The move with Lewis to SDSU is an opportunity to get back on the field for Hagan.
