Texas State: Texas State has now announced that Everett Withers won't be back. Defensive coordinator Chris Woods will coach the team in their final game this weekend.

FCS: Exciting day for many; hard day for some as the FCS regular season has come to a close and the playoff bracket will be announced later this morning. Some of the best teams will learn their next opponent; but for many programs, today is the day they begin to look forward to the 2019 season. Change will come for some. I encourage everyone in those shoes to see this as an opportunity to redefine how you do what you do, to start fresh with a clean slate, to go positive again and to be the leader you know you can be. Cleveland Browns: Adam Schefter reports this morning the Browns are interested in interviewing Condoleeza Rice for their head coaching position. Update:Eh, maybe not.

USC: Yahoo Sports Pete Thamel writes this morning about USC head coach Clay Helton, "This season has revealed what anyone with common sense would have told you at the time former AD Pat Haden promoted Helton to full-time coach after the 2015 season: Helton wasn't ready in any way for this job." Thamel adds that current AD Lynn Swann "doesn't think much of Helton as a coach." As a reminder, Swann extended Helton's contract earlier this year. Update> Reader points out to us that in 2017 Thamel penned an article titled, "Why Clay Helton was perfect for USC after Kiffin, Sarkisian" Thamel closes out that piece with, "...And it would uphold what's becoming obvious: After two hires that hit the dirt, USC looks like it has thrown a curveball for a strike."

Kansas: Ross Dellenger is reporting this morning that Les Miles' deal with Kansas is in place. Les Miles Kansas head coach. Jon Kirby who covers KU is also confirming the hire. More here.

New York Jets: NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports this morning that Jets head coach Todd Bowles is unlikely to return next year. Rapoport: "Change is expected barring some sort of unforeseen circumstance in New York."

Colorado: Mike MacIntyre had some interesting things to say after CU's loss to Utah on Saturday (the programs sixth straight loss this season).

Green Bay: Mike McCarthy "needs to close strongly to keep his job" reports Ian Rapoport.
