Opposite Side Mesh Mechanics in Boundary RPOs: Boundary side reads in the RPO game are more efficient for two reasons: the route options are limited and so is this coverage. These two elements clean up the post-snap picture for the quarterback who can quickly identify the extra fitter and throw off him. Central College (IA) was 90% efficient in the RPO game, and the boundary menu was a big reason why- leaving one opposing coordinator to say “we didn’t have an answer for it.” Offensive coordinator Ryan Maiuri details for X&O Labs how he combined an opposite side mesh to influence the boundary safety and create more space in his RPO menu. Utah Tech (FCS): Utah Tech University has an opening for two offensive graduate assistant coaches. They are looking for one offensive line graduate assistant. The graduate assistant will assist the offensive coaches in day-to-day duties. Duties will include assisting with coaching a position, the scout team, creating scouting reports, film breakdown, and assisting on recruiting visits. They will also work directly with the Head Coach and the Offensive Coordinators with any other duties as assigned. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required. Offensive line playing or coaching experience is preferred. This position includes graduate school tuition and some meals.
