UNC-Pembroke (D-II): UNC-Pembroke is hiring two part time Assistant Athletic Performance Coaches. Job Summary: To lead all strength and conditioning activities for 3 athletic programs and assist in strength and conditioning activities for football in a safe and professional manner, and within all rules and regulations of UNCP and the NCAA. Must maintain professional working relationships with athletic training staff and all members of coaching staff. Must demonstrate the ability to clearly and professionally communicate with student-athletes, administration and staff. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or similar field. Must be CSCS, CSCCA, or USAW certified, CPR, AED and First Aid certified or have the ability to obtain CPR, AED and First Aid certification within the first 30 days of beginning the position. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Six months to 1 year of collegiate strength & conditioning experience is preferred in a professional internship capacity. Interns will participate in a Division I environment with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience assisting the full-time staff working with student-athletes. The following subject areas will be addressed during your internship: assessing your athletes and pre-session readiness, varying models and methods of periodization and programming, resistance training variables, movement classification, Olympic lifting variables, energy system development, power training, linear speed development, and various other topics. Responsibilities for the internship will include session setup/breakdown, cleaning and upkeep of the facility, and working directly with designated student-athletes. You must be able to commit a minimum of 20 hours per week. This is an unpaid internship, and we do not offer housing.
