Rice: The Rice University Football Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for VOLUNTEER coaches for the Fall 2023 Semester. The internship is scheduled to begin August 21st and will run through November 30th. This is an unpaid position; however, the position does come with a meal plan as well as paid parking. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the daily implementation of in-season training for Rice Football, set-up and breakdown of daily training sessions, routine maintenance, cleaning and organization of the training facility, as well as participation in a vigorous internship curriculum. This position also offers a unique opportunity to gain knowledge in performance technology and data collection through the use of GPS tracking, force plate monitoring, NordBord and functional movement screening. Prerequisites include, CPR/AED Certification, as well as completion of, or working towards, a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. The goal of this internship is to prepare and help place individuals into paid roles in the field of strength and conditioning. BYU: Brigham Young University is currently accepting applications for FALL 2023 THREE (3) Internship positions. Qualified candidates would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the BYU Strength and Conditioning staff with the implementation of the in-season program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands on experience training Division 1 collegiate athletes. Nike gear will be provided. Meals will be provided through Fall Camp with some meals being provided throughout the semester. Required qualifications include completion or current pursuit of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and a strong work ethic. Participation in Collegiate Athletics is preferred. Other preferred qualifications include certification from an accredited organization (CSCS/SCCC) or previous coaching experience. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. North Dakota State: North Dakota State University’s Football Strength and Conditioning program is seeking applicants for a paid fall semester internship starting in August. The intent of the internship is to provide a semester's worth of hands-on coaching experience working with our strength and conditioning staff and eventually with our student-athletes. This will allow the individual to gain knowledge of our program thus making them a viable candidate for future positions within the program. Duties will include assisting the Director of Football Strength & Conditioning with all aspects of the football strength and conditioning and nutrition programs. Applicants must be prepared to work long hours. These hours will vary throughout the internship and will include early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours. Requirements: Applicants must possess a relentless work ethic and have a strong desire to work with football in an intense environment. They must understand the importance nutrition plays in the development of the student-athlete and be willing to assist in that role. Experience stocking, ordering, and managing the fueling station may be involved in this role depending upon the candidate’s desire and previous experience. Again, this is a hands-on internship where you will be expected to coach student-athletes once you have taken the time and interest in learning the system. Candidates that are open-minded, inquisitive, and have the ability to listen and learn through an example-based, learning environment are encouraged to apply. Youngstown State (FCS - OH): The Youngstown State University Sports Performance program is currently accepting applications for an unpaid internship for the 2023 Fall semester. The Internship begins August 7, 2023 and goes through December 15, 2023. If interns excel, they will be asked to return for the summer. Daily responsibilities include assisting with the implementation of Sports Performance programs for 19 Division I sports teams, weight room/equipment maintenance, completion of readings/assignments, and other duties as assigned. Applicants should have a desire to pursue a career in the field of Strength & Conditioning. Ideal candidates should be working towards or have obtained their bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a related field. Candidates should hold or plan to pursue a certification from one of the following: SCCC or CSCS. This is an unpaid position; however, interns will gain valuable Sports Performance experience at a Division I program and have the opportunity to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Texas Southern: The Texas Southern University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for TWO (2) Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coaches to begin during the summer semester of 2023. Priority consideration will be given to candidates who possess or are working towards certification through the NSCA, CSCCa or USAW and are CPR / First Aid / AED Certified. Desired attributes include outstanding organizational and computer skills, great work ethic, professionalism and most importantly the ability to command the room. Previous coaching and / or playing experience is a plus. Verbal communication skills with diverse populations is a must. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Set up and breakdown of training sessions for assigned sports, general maintenance and upkeep of Athletic Facilities, communication with Sport Coaches, Athletic Training staff and Administration. Must be able to physically demonstrate strength and Olympic lifts as well as speed progressions and change of direction movements. The sport assignments will be based on experience. Preferably the successful candidates will assist Football and be the lead coach for 1-2 Olympic sports. Selected candidates will receive valuable experience in the day-to-day operations of a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Department, program design and implementation, nutrition, speed, agility and explosive training. Belhaven (D-III - MS): Belhaven University, Christian liberal arts university in Jackson, Mississippi, competing in both the USA South (football) and Collegiate Conference of The South (other sports), is seeking a graduate assistant coach for strength and conditioning starting in Fall 2023. This position is responsible for programing for men’s basketball, women’s soccer, and track and field throwers as well as assistance with football. This position entails supervision, maintenance and general operation of the weight room and other duties assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Qualifications: (required) – statement of faith, bachelor’s degree, previous strength and conditioning experience or experience as a collegiate athlete, strong work ethic, & current CPR/AED certification. New Mexico Military: New Mexico Military Institute is looking to hire an assistant strength and conditioning coach / GAC Coordinator. Job Summary: Under the direction of the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and Athletic Director, the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the direct development and implementation of performance training programs of college sport teams as assigned. The assistant strength coach will assist the head strength coach in the development and execution of the Corps Physical Fitness training program to elevate the readiness of the Corps of Cadets to pass the Army Physical Fitness Test. The assistant strength coach will oversee daily operations of the Godfrey Athletic Center (GAC), NMMI’s student fitness center, under the guidance of the head strength coach.
