Ball State: We hear Winona State offensive line coach Jason Eck has accepted the offensive line job at Ball State.

Missouri: Our sources tell us that linebackers coach Dave Steckel will be promoted to defensive coordinator.  We hear director of football operations Barry Odom will now coach the safeties.  Defensive graduate assistant Dan Hopkins will become the director of football operations.


Lindsey Wilson College: is accepting applications for the positions of Defensive Coordinator and Offensive Coordinator. The college is a member of the Mid-South Conference and the NAIA. Responsibilities: Assist the Head Football Coach with the daily operations of the football program including, but not limited to, the recruitment of student-athletes, practice planning and execution, game coaching, academic monitoring, player development, and other duties required to develop a nationally competitive football program. The successful candidates will represent the institution in a professional manner and demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the college.   Review of applications will begin immediately with an anticipated start date of May 2009. The program will begin intercollegiate competition in September 2010, which will coincide with the opening of a new outdoor sports stadium. These are 12-month, full-time positions with benefits. Qualifications include: minimum of a bachelor's degree, but a master's degree preferred; and previous successful coaching experience, with college coaching experience preferred. Arizona Cardinals: Our sources tell us Chris Miller could soon be named quarterbacks coach under Ken Whisenhunt.  Miller and Whisenhunt played together in Atlanta. 

Cleveland Browns: We hear Missouri defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus is set to join the Cleveland Browns staff as linebackers coach.

Ellsworth JC (IA): Northern Colorado defensive assistant Ryan Kluever will be joining the staff at Ellsworth JC to coach the defensive line.

Hawaii: Former Nevada head coach Chris Tormey is joining the staff as special teams coordinator. 

Kansas City Chiefs: Head coach Toddy Haley has added Maurice Carthon to the staff.

McNeese State: Our sources tell us that former Louisiana-Monroe co-defensive coordinator / defensive line coach Manny Michel has been hired at McNeese State.

Washington: Quarterbacks coach Doug Nussmeier has added the title of offensive coordinator.

Arizona Cardinals: As we reported earlier in the week, Rutgers offensive coordinator John McNulty has officially accepted the wide receivers job with the Arizona Cardinals.

Blue Ridge School (VA): is no longer accepting resumes

Central Arkansas: Defensive tackles coach Matt Williamson has been promoted to defensive coordinator. 

Earlham College: is longer accepting resumes for the offensive line job.

North Dakota State: Our sources tell us that Charlie Camp will join the NDSU staff as linebackers coach.  Camp last served on the staff at Nevada in 2007.

UT-San Antonio: We hear the finalists for the UTSA job are Pete Fredenburg (Mary Hardin-Baylor), Mike MacIntyre (Duke defensive coordinator), Paul Randolph (Tulsa co-defensive coordinator), Tom Rossley (Texas A&M quarterbacks coach), and Larry Coker (former Miami head coach).

University of St. Thomas: is no longer accepting resumes.

Western Kentucky: We hear WKU tried to lure Jeff Brohm to join the staff as quarterbacks coach.  Brohm has decided to remain with Florida Atlantic.

Indiana State: Head coach Trent Miles has hired former Stanford and Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Troy Walters as offensive coordinator.  We think Miles coached Walters at Stanford.

Iowa State: Former Northern Iowa quarterbacks coach Courtney Messingham has joined the Iowa State staff as tight ends coach.

Kansas City Chiefs: Dedric Ward is joining the staff.  Former Tampa Bay offensive coordinator Bill Muir has joined the staff.

New Hampshire: Former Iona special teams coordinator / defensive line coach Jake Zweig has accepted the defensive line job at New Hampshire.

Richmond: Our sources tell us that defensive assistant Byron Thweatt will be promoted to running backs coach.  We heard Kenny Lewis will be joining the staff to coach the defensive tackles.

Toledo: We hear former Kent State wide receivers coach Jason Nichols has accepted the outside receivers job at Toledo.
